Our workouts are designed with different fitness levels in mind. Please have a read through the level details below before booking to check which classes are appropriate for you.

Level 1 – Gentle Pilates
  • Great for balance, coordination and strength.

  • Osteoporosis safe, suitable for all.

  • May include seated pilates.

Level 2 – Flowing Pilates
  • An all round, whole body workout designed to establish and improve upon core stability, strength and flexibility.

  • Ideal if you’re injury free and healthy.

Level 3 – Athletic Pilates
  • These intermediate to advanced classes challenge core stability and strength and introduce trickier moves.

  • Experience recommended.

Yorkshire Dales Pilates

From the inspiring Yorkshire Dales in the North of England, we provide effective and enjoyable matwork and apparatus tuition for everybody.

Our studio is home to pilates apparatus of the highest quality and includes four reformers, the cadillac, ladder barrel, spine corrector, arc barrel and stability chair alongside a full range of small props for mat classes.

This year we have also been teaching teaching pilates everyday via Facebook Live. Our 30min lessons offer fresh, varied, multi-level workouts in real time, or you can watch them later!

Our outstanding teachers hold internationally recognised qualifications and bring a wealth of expertise and experience to both the studio and our online lessons.

We are passionate about quality of movement for everyone and work with a wide range of clients including those recovering from injuries and athletes seeking to improve their performance.

What is Pilates?

Pilates, pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates (1880-1967), is a unique mind-body exercise system that develops body awareness and stretches, strengthens and streamlines the muscles to create a firm, toned, flexible and balanced body. Joseph Pilates was a German expatriate who first made his mark in England during the First World War when he developed a series of exercises and innovative equipment to help prisoners of war regain strength and mobility.

When Joseph Pilates emigrated to New York, the local professional dance community discovered that his conditioning techniques helped prevent injury and improve strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone. The pilates repertoire consists of more than 500 systematic, mind-body exercises that can be performed on a mat or on specialised equipment, such as the reformer.
